Privacy Policy

Effective May 11, 2026
Recovery is deeply personal. We built Sober Squad so the people in your sober corner — and only those people — share your journey with you. This page explains in plain English what we collect, where it lives, and what we never do with it.

01Overview

Sober Squad is an iOS app published by Dreamseeds ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how Sober Squad ("the App") handles personal information when you use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

We aim to collect as little as possible, store as much as we can on your device, and never sell or share your personal recovery data with advertisers — full stop.

02Information we collect

2a · Information you provide

2b · Information collected automatically

2c · What we do not collect

03Apple Health data

Sober Squad integrates with Apple Health to power its Squad Ring challenges. With your permission, the App reads the following HealthKit data types:

Your health data never leaves your phone.

All Apple Health data read by Sober Squad is processed entirely on your device. We do not transmit, store, mirror, or back up your raw health data on any external server — including our own. We do not sell, share, or rent your health data to third parties. We never use your health data for advertising. We never use it to train any AI model.

When you complete a Squad Ring challenge and share progress with your squad, only derived totals (e.g., "I closed my rings 5 days this week") are visible to squad members — not the underlying HealthKit records.

You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Sober Squad. Revoking access immediately stops the App from reading any further HealthKit data.

04How we use your information

We use the information described above only to:

We do not profile you, score you, target ads to you, or sell any information about you.

05Storage & security

Health data: on-device only. Never transmitted.

Squad content (chat, milestones, events, member lists): stored in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We do not operate our own backend servers that hold your squad content. Squad data is shared between you and the members of your squads through CloudKit's shared database.

Account info: minimal — your Apple ID identifier (for Sign in with Apple) and display name are kept in iCloud alongside your squad data.

While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we rely on Apple's platform-level encryption and access controls. We do not retain access to data after you delete your account.

06Third-party services

Sober Squad uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each receives only the data described.

If we ever add additional services (for example, an analytics tool), we will update this page before the change ships.

07Your rights & choices

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell your personal information. Submit requests by emailing dreamseedsapp@gmail.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line.

European Economic Area & UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (when you grant permissions) and the performance of our contract with you (operating the App). To exercise these rights, email dreamseedsapp@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

08Children's privacy

Sober Squad is rated 17+ on the App Store. The App is not directed to anyone under 17, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

09Subscriptions & payments

Squad+ Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment method, credit card, or billing address.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top and notify you inside the App before the change takes effect. Continued use of Sober Squad after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
